Empowering Boys Through Education

EduRise Malawi was established in 2024 with a clear and purposeful mission: to promote equal access to quality education for boys from vulnerable and underserved communities across Malawi.

Our journey began in January 2025 with the launch of our first programs in the districts of Blantyre, Thyolo, Chiradzulu, and Mulanje. From the start, we focused on helping boys return to school while also empowering parents and guardians through income-generating activities, reducing the economic pressures that often lead to child labor.

In many of the communities we serve, a growing number of boys are being sent by their families to engage in small businesses instead of attending school. Some are working for business owners in towns, selling various goods during the same hours they are meant to be in class. Others are out of school due to a lack of learning materials, financial hardship, or complex family challenges.

EduRise Malawi exists to address these root causes. We go beyond surface solutions by working directly with families, schools, and communities to understand why boys are missing school and to provide practical support that helps them return and stay in class.

We are committed not only to keeping boys in school, but also to helping them enjoy learning, stay motivated, and believe in their own potential. Through mentorship, material support, and community engagement, we encourage boys to see education as a path to opportunity, dignity, and long-term success.

While many initiatives rightly focus on girls' education, EduRise Malawi was created to ensure that boys are not left behind. We proudly stand as a voice for boys, advocating for their right to learn, grow, and rise. Our work is rooted in the belief that true educational equality means lifting every child — and making sure that boys, too, have the chance to build a brighter future.
